KINGERY HOMECOMING

Honestly, there are moments in this field when I say to myself, this is not a "JOB". This is a privilege. A privilege to be the one who was asked to be such a small role in such an important part of these families days, moments, and events. This? This was one of those moments. Matt has been away in Afghanistan for the last 8 months. 8 months! 8 months away from his SWEET wife, Jana and two ADOOOOORABLE kids, Declan and Gillian. Could you imagine? It takes strength and love to do what this family does. And trust me they do both VERY well. There was a group of about 30 freedom riders there to welcome all the military members coming home. It was awesome to see everything unfold. They formed two solid lines at the end of the escalator and each member held a giant flag. Then when the first soldier was spotted the bag piped started. Wow. Jana and the kids saw Matt before he even started coming down the escalator. Thats when the tears started forming in Jana's eyes and the kids smiles grew bigger then their cheeks could hold. As soon as Declan and Gillian ran into the arms of THEIR hero there couldn't have been a dry eye in the building. Im so honored to have even been in the same room, let alone photograph this event for them.
