THE BIRTH OF BABY MADDOX

You may remember this family from a session I did out on their property a couple months ago. Abbey was 8 months preg at the time. And although we had already known I would be photographing the birth it was a wonderful way to get to know them and for them to get to know me:) Abbey had planned a natural home birth. When we met for our consultation in Feb she was still teetering between birthing outside or inside. It was about a month ago though that she let me know Matt (her husband) had built an outdoor structure and she planned to deliver their newest addition outside! Abbey was having contractions for about 2 days before her labor truly started. When I came out I was expecting to find a bent over momma in agonizing pain. Nope. Not Abbey! She was walking around the property, cleaning crumbs off the table that her children had just left from cupcakes they made in celebration of their newest sibling, and didn't miss a beat when it came to still being a mom to three little ones, all the while going through contractions. She was carrying on conversation like it was nothing! I can't even begin to say how amazing this was to whiteness. You never would of thought this was a woman going through labor. Being June no one EVER thought we would have the weather we did a few nights ago though. It was windy and chilly but with blankets and a space heater Abbey had her birth outdoors just like she had wanted! The midwives there were absolutely amazing. Super down to earth, attentive, and carried a wonderful calming sense to them. When Abbeys water finally broke, we went out doors. Matt and Abbey chose not to find out the sex of the baby, so that anticipation was still lingering. About 30 minutes after Abbeys water broke she delivered a sweet little boy. And with total ease I might add! I actually hadn't even realized she was pushing until the midwife had said his head was already out! Thats how amazing this woman was ladies and gentlemen. Superwoman I tell ya. Matt was able to catch too! After he caught the baby he gently slid the baby through Abbeys legs to her so she could see her sweet baby BOY! Yep little man was 3rd boy and Jayden is the princess of the family (just like she wanted:)). Ill quit babbling and let you ooogle in this amazing birth:)
